15TH ANNUAL ALL DAY SINGING

10 AM TO 4 PM
CHAIRPERSON: KIM MORENO
GRACE EPISCOPAL CHURCH PARISH HALL (SEE ABOVE) BERRYVILLE, VA

NOTES:
1. We will not meet the first Saturday in April as that will be the date of the Potomac River Convention, held in The Grange in Great Falls, VA. It will be held Saturday, April 5 and Sunday April 6.

2. Due to popular demand we will continue the Easter Sunrise Service at Old Chapel in Clarke County, VA and Egg Hunt at Villa delRe on March 23. Please let us know in advance if you would like to participate, as we have a set song selection from the Sacred Harp and other sources. (Since Easter falls very early this year, please be prepared for cold weather - the old stone church is unheated).

Northern Shenandoah Valley Sacred Harp and Shape Note Singers meet (generally, but not always) on the first Saturday of the month to sing from the Sacred Harp. Sacred Harp singing is a non-denominational community, musical, and spiritual event emphasizing participation, not performance. The music is sung a cappella without harps or any other musical instrument. The music is printed in ³patent notes² wherein the shape of the note head indicates the syllables FA, SOL, LA, and MI. The book includes psalm tunes, fuging tunes, and anthems, as well as Scotch Irish folk songs and revival hymns. Books are available for sale. All are welcome, no experience necessary! Call John or Kelly for more information at (540) 955-2660. Send us your email address if you would like to be put on our electronic mailing list; to jdelre@visuallink.com.
